This was a neat place to visit. Took a guided tour here with the kids, started riding the the coal mine carts, and walked right through the old buildings and fixtures and got a real grasp of what this place was like as a real operating coal mine. Loved the fact that the guides gave the kids a photo "scavenger hunt" to go on while we were on the tour to keep them entertained.Read more

I love Heritage park! Everyone who works there is very authentically dressed and they stay in character. If you get there early, I recommend you drop by the bakery, where they serve up fresh sour dough and French baguettes. I have talked to the baker there and she says that after 10 am they usually sell out. Afterwards, you should take a Ferry ride or go for a walk down gasoline alley. It is ideal for a first date as you can have a picnic along the grounds. Lots of parking as well! On a side note, they also host events and their events staff is more than accommodating.Read more
If your children love dinosaurs as much as mine do, you HAVE to visit the Royal Tyrrell! The exhibits are awe-inspiring! Great photo opportunies in front of the large dinosaur fossils, not to mention the fantasic gift shop, interactive exhibits like a small fossil dig for kids, etc. The museum has undergone an overhaul in the past couple of years, and you won't be disappointed!Read more
