This is my family's come to place for Thai and Chinese food. We usually order take-out due to time constraints, but we have dined in once or twice and service was fast. When we do take-out, we order Thai dinner for 4 or Chinese dinner for 5. The two are about the same price, but the Chinese dinner is what we love because you get a lot of food for a good price. I wouldn't find this great place without my Chinese friend. I didn't know what to order at the beginning, and was very curious about the menu written in Chinese on the white board. My friend strongly recommended their salted fish with chicken fried rice. The noodle soup I ordered was absolutely delicious. Next time I'll try some other interesting dish. Read more

This is a gem of a restaurant, tucked into a strip mall. Eaten there three times now, and consistently the food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared. Went here for a friends birthday and was not disappointed! The martini list is by far the best I have ever seen and the little tappa type appetizers we ordered hit the spot. We ordered 3 takeout meals for a get together at home - $13.50 each The food was ready in 30 minutes and was waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. I got a 10 percent discount for picking it up rather than having it delivered, so the total came to about $41. The 3 meals were well-packaged and still hot when I got them home. Everything tasted great - just the way chinese food is supposed to taste. In particular I noticed that the vegetables were crisp - they had not heated up some old ingredients. And there was more than enough for everyone My only regret is that downtown Hamilton is in such bad shape that it affects business. There were only 2 parties of about 7 people in the restauraunt when I arrived to pick up the food. The place deserves better than that. Read more

Upon discovering this place, I have been at least once a week either for a pot of tea, a quick lunch or a dinner with my partner. The atmosphere is relaxed and not rushed - the dining room is relatively small so service is able to see when you are in need of anything. Everything on the menu is vegetarian and so full of flavor! Sometimes restaurants will just give you the meat version without the meat and that will be their vegetarian options but here you get treated to refined and practiced vegetarian dishes. Their teas some in a glass, clear tea pot and are always presented so nicely so it is an entire experience really. Read more

If I can recommend on this here, it is the baked chicken in cream sauce on rice. It is excellent and bursting in flavour. All other dishes are just as good. We just keep coming back for me. Glad we don't have to travel to Markham for this kind of food. Read more

Mandarin is a really excellent place to eat a buffet. They are really kind to you and free refills (water, coke). They give you these mint candy after your visit for free. If you tell them that it is your birthday, they give you a cake piece, sing the happy birthday song and a free picture. Also, they have decorations for you to enjoy and they keep the place very neat. I like how they make food and name the food it’s specific name. The names also say if it is sugar-free, and if it is spicy. They have specific rooms that they assign you to eat and the sign tells you what room it is (Room A, Room b .etc.). The employes are really nice and when you come in, they make you feel welcomed (unless if the lineup is really long and people have reservations). After you are done with your food, you can just leave your plate on your table. You can get a new plate with food on it so you do not have to use the same plate over and over again. In conclusion, you should really go to Mandarin. It is a really excellent buffet to go to. It has crab legs right now and they are really expensive to buy at a store. They have a variety of foods and make their own combinations of foods which is really good.
