Not sure why there are bad reviews on here. Must have visited at a bad time or something. I eat here almost weekly and am never let down. The menu is always improving and the service is pretty well standard- GREAT. Drinks specials are always happening and there are usually seasonal deals as well. If something does go wrong (which is inevitable once in a while in ANY restaurant), a manager always comes out to fix the problem and adjust the bill accordingly. Keep it up Kelseys Read more

After reading a few reviews on this place I can see possibly where the feeling of "pretentious" comes from. However, our experience was quite enjoyable. Our server was attentive, and polite, although seemed like she was trying to rush us a bit. The food was excellent as far as I was concerned. The sushi was fresh, and the coconut shrimp is excellent. I admit I noticed the prices on the menu were steep for certain items like the steak mentioned in the previous review (almost $30 for 12oz), but generally for this type of formal more upscale restaurant the prices are satisfactory and in check. I would definetely go back to Koi, especially in the summer where the patio looks very nice. Even just for some drinks and some apps (the tempura was also very good). No doubt, there may be better sushi houses around but overall to please a varied palette, Koi is quite delicious. Read more

Kismet is my go-to place for Indian/Bangladeshi food in Waterloo. I usually get take out because the space is pretty small, and I've never had a problem with the people at the cash. My partner is not a fan of cilantro and they've never given as a problem when we ask for items without. Their naan is the best I've had in Waterloo (Grain of Salt in Cambridge is the only place I've tried with better naan). Much better than the sort of pancakey stuff I've seen at other places *cough*Curry in a Hurry. I really like their aloo gobi, which is potato and caulifower with curry spices. Please disregard those few negative reviews, there will always be grumpy/negative people. We keep going to Kittiya and we keep introducing friends and business associates who become fans themselves. Yes, plates of food sometimes arrives a few minutes apart from each other, and that is because they are prepared FRESH with no shortcuts!!! If you want instant food, go to a buffet or pre-order for pickup!
