Now, their sushi is not the best BUT it's always fresh, on time and at very competitive prices. I'm pretty certain that quality of their sushi vs other places in the 10-15 mile radious is better , so don't bother looking around just order pick up/carry out. Read more

While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day. Read more

Have been a regular at Ami for a couple years now and let me tell you they have yet to let me down. We usually order nigiri sushi and rolls. The nigiri is the best you will find in Oakville hands down. The piece of fish you get is twice the size of the rice making it a very generous portion. I have eaten at at least 10 other sushi joints in town and prefer Ami nigiri any day. The staff is amazing and they even deliver. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and they are very happy to see you. Try it. Read more

My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday. The place is small and there is always a lineup. But the food is worth the wait. We would visit over and over again. Too bad they're closed on Mondays. :( Read more

Based on the reviews of this place, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is really small, probably only about 10 small tables. The servers are very kind and attentive. It was a tad confusing as we had about three different servers throughout our lunch. The sushi chefs were not very kind, they seemed a bit put out, as if they didn't enjoy where they were. The seaweed salad and miso soup are amazing! I loved the way they decorated the plate for the seaweed salad, very cute! The sushi was really good, it came out quickly and it tasted delicious. I highly recommend the K-Rock roll, it is deep-fried to perfection! The only thing is that the K-Rock roll is about $12.95, but for eight pieces, it isn't too bad. Our total came out to $83 for four people, a tad pricey but, we polished all of the sushi, it was that good! I highly recommend this place, not only is the food good, the servers are very kind.
