We arrived in Kingston for a hockey tournament and searched for a restaurant that was able to accommodate a group of 40, half of which were kids. The owner together with his staff welcomed our team and did an amazing job. The kids had a great time, the service was the best we've seen from any east side Mario's, and they did a great job on the food. Hats off to the staff and the owner for going above and beyond! I am confused by the "American" designation, since it is clearly German, right down to the delicious spaetzle and red cabbage. (You can only get the red cabbage if you ask, it isn't on the menu.) The schnitzels are very good, with ample portions. (We have never tried the homemade desserts -- too full!) The meat is tender and set off well by the fine breading. My husband has tried every schnitzel on the menu, and has a hard time declaring a favourite - he enjoys them all. The coffee is very good, the warm bun that comes prior to the meal is a nice treat. The service is usually very pleasant. A little more than a standard lunch in terms of cost, but worth it. Read more

what can i say,,we absolutely love judy's place..we visit regularly and know the staff by first name. The staff are super nice and never have a problem substituting orders for my kids. The owner and cook always brings out a complimentary bowl of chocolate chip cookies for my kids everytime we eat there. the food is fantastic and the prices are great! as for decor, iv seen some other somewhat negative remarks in regards to it , but even tho its clearly not done by a interior designer, its comfortable and bright. You gotta love when you can go into a place and say i'll have the usual and the waitress knows exactly what and how you like it prepared. i definately recommend eating at judy's. Visited twice in the last 10 days and LOVED IT. Once was a Saturday afternoon 12:30ish and it was very crowded but lucked into a seat once the food was ready. More recently was a weekday 4:30ish, much quieter but still a few patrons. Either way, food is made to order - might take 5-10 mins. but worth the wait and fun to watch. We have had a total of 2 little burgers and 3 regular (double patty) cheeseburgers so far and they are flavourful, well cooked but tender, so good you can (and want to) taste the meat itself. Buns are soft with a nice chew, sesame seeded. We kept it simple with lettuce, relish, pickles, ketchup but you can go crazy with wide selection of toppings. Fries are in peanut oil, gorgeous brown and slightly crisp but fluffy inside. Huge portion even for regular, as others have said. Nice to see Coke products in the machines and Heinz ketchup for fries. Great spirit among the staff, focused and attentive and seem to be happy to be there, which must be a compliment because the kitchen is wide open for customers to watch the whole scene. The place was kept very clean. There is nothing frozen on site, which explains the fresh taste. Very simple, straightforward menu. No need to consider combos and deals, it's burgers, add drink or fries if you want or not. Keep up the great work and please consider a second location in west end Kingston! Read more

We were staying in Kingston at the Holiday Inn and decided to use the in hotel restaurant. It was a pleasant experience and we were seated beside a window, so we got to see the lake. It started to get fairly busy, but wasn't loud at all. There was a menu, but we both decided to try the buffet. The food was decent with a lot to choose from - I may have had more than I needed to. The wine selection was standard, nothing spectacular. Our server (I forget her name) was quite attentive and very engaging. Will definately try again if we decide to visit Kingston. Read more

This place was bustling on the beautiful sunny day we headed over, and I now know why. Everything about this place was great! The server was smiley and took great care to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was fresh and tasty, and sitting outside in the fresh air with the lovely park and lake view was unbeatable. The french fries are so good, they don't need ketchup! Can't say enough about this place. My wife and I discovered E&A's 2 years ago and go back at least once a month. I read some negative comments on this page and frankly, I think that these were written by E&A's competition because for the most part the comments were complete rubbish. We have never had a bad experience there, and the food and service has been cosistently top notch. They have the best seafood platter we have ever enjoyed . Their meals although pricey are filling and delicious. It can be cold if you sit in the front in the winter though. If you sit at the chef's table you can watch your meal being prepared. Someone commented that the steaks are pre-cooked and warmed up?? I have watched my raw steak cooked to perfection in frontt of my own eyes so I don't know were that comment came from. We highly recommend E&A's and as a matter of fact, we are going there tonight again! P.S. They make the best Ceaser I have ever had too. Read more
