It is no secret in this restaurant community as to the reason for certain negative reviews. It is just so sad and appalling that this is going on. My only wish is that the reviews being posted by “virtual” customers cease as it is becoming, quite frankly, very tiresome and extremely predictable. Let’s leave this space for “authentic” customers. It is incomprehensible how this continues. When success is achieved through honesty, morals and a strong work ethic it is a shame that those who do not share these qualities try to ride the coattails of those who do and take the low road by continually trying to defame them. I wish the family run La Mexicanada Restaurant continued success. After 9 years of backbreaking hard work and a strong devotion to their customers and paisanos they deserve nothing less. The food is 100% authentic, the recipes are from the owner’s own family, who by the way are an “authentic” Mexican family still residing in “authentic” Mexico. I rated this Keg a 4 but that is a balance of infleucnes because there is a good side and a down side. The good: the cleavage OR the mini-skirts. Notice that checking out some cleavage on young ladies or short skirts is pure entertainment and super. BUt for some very strange reason no waitress has both of them. Its either this or that. What is the story? I dont know. The girls with cleavage have pants, the girls in minis have no cleavage. STRANGE> the other down side is the kids. People, if you have three kids can you ask them to stay at home or leave their baseball caps at home? this is a high class restaurant. There is a burger place around the corner did you mean to take them there? I am not going to come back and order alcohol if there are kids around. The steak was good, the wine was what we wanted and at a reasonable price and my date was the hottest blondie in the whole place but.... (see above) Read more

I come to this place because it is close proximity to where I live. The atmosphere of this place is amazing. There are booths set up like Japanese-styled rooms, jazz music is played in the background (okay not authentic, but meh), the chopsticks are placed in either bamboo boxes or in mini-kimonos. The food, well, it really depends on what your order. I give top marks to the rolls they have, and I especially recommend the Toronto and Monster rolls, those two are unique in their own ways. I didn't like their sushi and sashimis, found their fish rather not fresh. The ramen and udons are excellent. Tempura is a no-go. Service-wise is quite wishy washy due to a lack of staff, especially if you're sitting by the booths. The ring for service technique is ineffective; even I can't tell how the mechanism will notify waitresses that you need assistance. They are very friendly though. Will I visit again? Yes, of course. Just know what you're ordering. Hey, if you visit often, the chefs sometimes give something new for you to try! Read more

I went the other day with a couple of friends and I have to say it was a nice cozy place to spend the day with a couple of friends. The sushi was tasty, the service was great. They were so polite and friendly. To the person below, this is Canada. Not Japan or anywhere else in Asia, where their specialties are Asian food. Also didn't help the fact you had high expectations going in which could have affected your overall impression. "Worst sushi" is not something I would use for this restaurant. I definitely recommend it for a night out with your friends and family or even just a lunch with a friend. Read more

I often go here for lunch since I work nearby. The Japanese chef is very friendly and welcoming. I've had an incredibly pleasant experience every time just being in this quiet and calm restaurant (although every once in a while it's absolutely full with a lunch crowd!) I like the sushi, salmon nigiri in particular, and their uni is very very good. They don't carry toro at all, by choice. Squid, scallop, hamachi, all great. Rolls are very lovely presented. The master chef and his wife are such lovely people who's efforts and dedication to the restaurant really have a great influence on the atmosphere. Did I mention that the food is amazing? My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday. The place is small and there is always a lineup. But the food is worth the wait. We would visit over and over again. Too bad they're closed on Mondays. :( Read more
