Service was pretty good considering we were eating in an asian establishment. Tea was topped up, food was replenished quickly, and the side dishes kept coming. I didn't use their washroom but the location is accessible by TTC or Car. Nice spacious dining area and it was clean. I liked how food was coming non-stop. We had so much food that night - great bang for our buck. Although the taste of the food was a little bland (compared to other Korean BBQ places), the side dishes made up for it. Extra spicy chili beef was orderd;however, previously ( a few days ago); just the chili beef (with the regular amount of spice was ordered). The extra spicy chili beef was Extremely good! It had the most pleasant flavour, and it was fresh, unlike other places from which I have ordered Hakka Chinese food. The service was fast, and I was satisfied with the meal. The servers were friendly (which always helps). An order of fried Sankee fried rice was also ordered; which consisted of beef/chicken/shrimp. (this too was VERY FRESH, one of the best fried rice dishes that I have tasted by far! A serving of spicy wings was also ordered ,and this too was quite tasty, and of course once again, FRESH! This restaurant does not serve any PORK dishes, so this was a bonus! As for the Spring Rolls, they were filled with stuffing accordingly, and they too were once again fresh, as well as the Egg Rolls which had a very pleasant crisp to them! (they sell at very good prices also)! In essence, SANKEE RESTAURANT HAS THE BEST INDIAN HAKKA STYLE CHINESE FOOD IN TORONTO AMONGST ALL THE ONES FROM WHICH I HAVE VISITED! For 10$ a person excluding taxes, you get authentic asian style soup (NOT cream of corn or vegetable soup), starter salad, main course, authentic asian dessert (none of that green tea ice cream stuff) AND a large bubble tea drink. The seats and tables are spacious and comfy, the place is ALWAYS clean, the decor is VERY nice, the place doesn't look sketch at all. The food was excellent. Absolutely no complaints about the food. Loved the food. My complaint about this restaurant is its size and decor. We went for lunch on a weekend and there were a lot of customers. The restaurant felt too small and needed a bigger room. The tables and chairs were uncomfortable, especially the design of the chairs. The tables were crowded close together so it felt claustrophobic. Maybe try to get a more comfortable booth near the window. The food is good and that's probably why there are many customers in that medium-small room. Read more
