The food always seems to be good in my experience here. I typically order pulled pork poutine (very good, unique), burgers, wraps, etc. I've never been disappointed during my somewhat extended history of visiting the pub. The decor is very busy, typical of brit pubs here, and the service is friendly and timely, not overbearing. Food waiting times are suitable and I've never heard anyone in my party of regulars complain of flat beer, dirty glasses, or hair in their food, as other reviews here indicate. I ordered take out online through their online ordering system, which is very fast and convenient for a lunch time take out order from my work. I got the curry chicken lunch special and with out realizing it, I was going to order an extra samosa thinking it wouldn't come with one because the price was so cheap. But to my surprise it came with the curry chicken, rice and a samosa. Most places for $7.50 you just get the chicken and rice so I was very satisfied with the amount of food and price. I also decided to get as hot as possible because most Indian places give you a mild at best even when you ask for as hot as possible (possibly because of the type of people that live in this area) and this was definitely hot. When we got there it was a little crazy inside because it was 12:30pm and the staff seemed to be rushing around but in all that rush two people had asked us if we were there for the pick up order or to dine in. We got our food quickly and 2 staff members (one of which who seemed like he may have been the owner) sparked up conversations with us while still doing their jobs. The flavour of the curry was great. I don't eat Indian curry as much as Thai curry (for any one who eats both, there is a big difference) but I have some what of an idea how Indian curries should taste. What was good: the price, the service, the food and the convenience is really great . What could be better: if it was an all you can eat buffet and the hours of operation seem to be really weird and the decor inside the restaurant seemed to have been from a pub that was there before it. I visit this location on a regular basis since I live in the area! First time I visited this location, one of the bartenders asked my name, and remembered it the next time i visited! All of the wait staff are super friendly, and funny! Some great aspects of the restaurant is their use and selection of fresh ingredients, individualized service, and intimate atmosphere. When we arrived we were promptly greeted and sat. After getting situated the owner approached us and started a casual conversation and asked us if we were interested in eating seafood or meat. We chose seafood and the owner then informed us that he would prepare us a personalized platter for two that we could share. This was kind of a relief because the menu was small didn’t have many items that were tempting to me. He also helped us pick out a bottle of Portuguese wine that complemented our dinner perfectly. . We were very impressed with the quality and freshness of food that we were served. Our Appetizer was grilled Ahi Tuna that had been brought into the restaurant that day. Our platter had some of the best tasting seafood that we have ever had, each prepared in a different way with a complementary fruit or vegetable. I really enjoyed the small and intimate atmosphere, there were about 20 small tables inside and four tables on their small patio at the entrance. Overall it had a very warm and cozy feel. I would recommend Classicos to anyone who enjoys fresh ethnic food for a moderate and fair price. If you enjoy family run places rather than franchise type establishments this is the place to go. The service is helpful and goes beyond expectations, perfect for small family gatherings or couples of all ages. Also returned six months later and the wait staff and owner recognized me immediately! I have stopped in to this small and un-assuming bar in the bus terminal a few times, as I have a friend who works there. All in all, it's a great place to hang out for a few drinks, watch the game or just unwind after a long day. There are always quite a few friendly "regulars" there, and by the time you leave they will be your new friends! I first expected to see more downtown "riff-raff" hanging out there, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Transfers has a pretty basic menu - sandwiches, pitas, caesar salad, nothing too exciting, but everything I have tried has been exceptionally good and the prices are VERY reasonable! For example, my last visit I had a Gyro pita with fries, and it was huge and delicious and only $5.99! Definitely a good value there...it is also worth mentioning that their fries are fantastic - I do not usually eat fries (don't like them) but these were great! I hear the poutine with real cheese curds is out of this world. If you find yourself at or near the bus terminal with some time to kill, I would recommend stopping in for a drink or three and some food. The ladies that work there are all very nice (I realise I am a little biased here as one of them is a good friend, but it's true) and the atmosphere is fun and laid-back. The only drawback is that the only (free) parking is on the street...sometimes there aren't any spots, and even the parking lot you have to pay for is sometimes full as well.
