This was my first time here……wow….everything was delist! I had the prime rib beef dip…amazing! Also the sweet potato fries accompanies the sandwich. The serving was hugh, and couldn’t eat it all. But hubby helped, lol As for the dessert, I couldn’t resist, I know…no dessert if you don’t finish your plate! My sister highly recommended the peanut butter cheese cake….I just had to have it! Have been here several times. One of our family's favorite restaurants. The food was great, as always, but last visit, service was a bit slow. My dad had the fish special of the day (can't remember what it was) and he loved it. Good size portions - we always take leftovers home! I went there with a friend/co-worker expecting a little more elegance in terms of ambiance. I was greeted at the host/hostess stand and seated immediatly by the window- I didn't even have to ask. Our server seemed a little anoyed or inconvinienced however was helpful when asked. The food was great not amazing but than again I have been told I am a little choosy. None the less we received our bill before we were asked for dessert which we decided not to have - maybe that was a good idea because we were both full. Know this isn't really in my nature; but with the food I had this place obviously has potential. My reccomendation is to step it up with the service add some more interesting decor and man this could really be a great restaurant for us business folk in the area to go to. Read more

After shopping a friend and I decided we were having a fish and chip craving so we decided to try the Bells Corners location for the first time. It was relatively busy on a Wednesday afternoon at 1p.m-a good sign. We had the haddock and chips-excellent -with crispy fries, good tiny coleslaw and yummy tartar sauce, lemon wedge. Fast and friendly service with an open style kitchen-you can see what they are doing in there. Everything coming from the kitchen looked good and no fishy smell when you go in like some places. Obviously, Chinese food in Ottawa pales in comparison to what Hong Kong offers but Cafe Orient's food is the best I can find that reminds me of home.
