Wonderful restaurant and drinking establishment. I usually go there with my boyfriend but sometimes, late at night, when he is asleep, you can find me at Jax because that is where good friends meet. And I've met so many good friends like MJ and have recently got my hair extensions done by this beautiful woman who had carried around roses that entire evening. I went there once with my friend Claire, who was, at the time, struggling with her weight and needed assistance to get to the karaoke bar to sing 'Stand By Your Man' and no one mocked her obesity. The food there is great and it is full of great real people. I cannot highly recommended this place enough and when you come out on a Saturday night after making an easy 25 bucks, I'll have a place reserved for you at my table. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and took a chance trying this restaurant for the first time. We were pleasantly suprised and absoloutely loved the experience. We ordered the Peppercorn Shrimp appetizer and the Roesti with Smolked Salmon. Delicious and plenty to share. We then ordered the Shrimp Pasta and the Hunter Schnitzel. The food is really outstanding!! best schnitzel I've ever had!! Super value. The service was extremely professional and very attentive and pleasant. At the end we ordered the Creme Brule and what an excellent finishing touch to a great meal. The ambiance in the restaurant is very inviting and romantic. I am so happy that we have found a new favourite restaurant that we love!!

My husband and I have been to Boo's twice. On both occassions we had a wonderful time and meal (as well as wine).
The server was extremely gracious and considerate. He came to check on our meal a couple of times, but was not intrusive whatsoever (allowing for an intimate and romantic evening).
The food was delicious. The servings were of good size (in our opinion) -- I was very full when I left, as was my husband. We had crab cakes for an appetizer - these were rich in real crab meat with little filler. As for mains, I had a salmon dish (the special) and my husband had Boo's signature dish (a steak). Ingredients were fresh, and there was a nice serving of vegetables (also flavourful and well done).
It is a quiet atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely go back.

The Tied House Pub is a great place for fresh, local brewed beer. Here you can get beer with taste. Each draught brew has its own character and is quite distinctive from the others on tap. If you have never had good beer before I would recommend a few visits to the pub to try various beers - perhaps a couple of half pints each time. Have some soup and a sandwich and prepare to taste beer and not just wet air.

I was wary to visit this place from the previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! They've done renovations as well as changed their menu. It has been for the better!
Our server, George, although new to the restaurant (starting one week prior) was very knowledgeable. I ask as many questions as possible, and I'm glad he could answer most, others he would go to the kitchen to ask any he did not know. One important question was where they source their beef, I was told it is all Ontario beef which pleased me.
The Beef Carpaccio was nice, as well as the Beef Wellington. Not the most traditional way to create the dish, but it was still tasty. The pork was nice, although the apple-bacon compote may have been a bit over-the-top on bacon. The Lamb chop was crusted nicely and was done VERY evenly.
The dessert was something else. Homemade marshmallows, homemade graham cookies, caramel sauce, and milk chocolate sauce. The marshmallows were on sticks and you have your own campfire that comes along with it. Very novel, very exciting, and the smell of the fire was very close to a campfire.
All in all, a good visit.

This restaurant created a very pleasant and appealing atmosphere. I was pleased with the warm welcoming received upon arrival. The place has been on Locke for years and every visit I have had only the best service. The staff are very accommodating and deal well with any request you may have. The Beasley House has a very warm and comfortable feeling as the dinning area only seats around 30 people. The menu offers a vast array of options and will suit the need of any type of customer. Anywhere from seafood and steak to hamburgers and fries, which is really helpful when dining with a larger, different group of people. The restaurant is especially appealing to me in the summer time as I spend a lot of time on Hamilton's trendy Locke street and the Beasley House is the only one with a patio??!!! Great place for lunch, as the owner always provides exceptional service, and never rushes you ! Overall, my experience was great and I would definitely recommend and return!!
