Most times when you go to a wine store that isn't run by the government you expect to pay through the nose for your selection. Not here though! I confess that I don't know most wine prices by hear but Everything Wine seemed to be pretty close if not on par with what the Government stores charge. And the selection! They carried bottles that I have never seen before and also a great selection of vintage products too. They have a wine tasting bar in the store too and they always seem to have interesting wines on offer here that you drink out of class glasses...not those silly little plastic ones that most tastes come in. Speaking of glasses they carry the full, and I mean full, line of Reidel glassware and tell you what type of wine every type of shape is for. If you're buying a gift Everything Wine carries a great selection of ways to wrap your present. They also opened a store at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey and it is every bit as good as this location. Check them out next time you're on the North Shore! Read more

They aren't cheap but they carry the finest beers available in the Pacific Northwest and that I haven't even seen at the biggest government liquor stores. Located right at the main entrance to Granville Island sits the Granville Island Brewery. Due to their popularity I think it has been a long time since this location was their main production facility but that hasn't stopped them from turning this into a unique and fun tourist attraction on the Island. Offering tours daily, you can learn about how their beer is made and more about the history of this unique little piece of brewing history in Vancouver. Granville Island Brewery was one of the first microbreweries in Canada and obviously they did a great job because they started a revolution in the Canadian brewing industry and were even just acquired by Molson Coors earlier this year. After your tour you get to sit and enjoy a sampler tray of 3 different beers. Or, you can just skip the tour and belly up to the bar in the tasting room and try all of their great brews named after Vancouver neighbourhoods and landmarks.
