consistently good

We've been here a number of times and we've always enjoyed our meals. It's standard mom and pop diner fare, and priced right. The service has always been friendly and efficient and they know alot of their regulars by name. On our last visit, the service was slow, but it was a Sunday and the place was packed. There was just one server when we arrived, so we were ready for a wait. She did her best to keep up with everyone and knew the order when all of the tables were sat. We will be back again!

Steve's OPEN Kitchen Should CLOSE!!

I really wanted to like this place. The Chef's Special consisted of 1 egg, bacon, 1 pancake, home fries & toast. I also ordered a cup of coffee. I have serious concerns regarding the quality and freshness of food that was used to prepare my meal. The egg and bacon were the only edible parts. The whole wheat toast was borderline expired.The syrup had no sweetness to it at all. I have no idea what this product actually was. The home fries were raw and cold. The coffee was also horrible. I have never not finished a meal except for the time I visited this restaurant. I paid my bill, left a tip and walked out.

eat here if you like BAD food...

This was the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to. I read the reviews but thought I would give it a chance. Our breakfasts came cold-the eggs, toast, homefries, sausages, everything!! The bacon was undercooked and the toast that was luke warm was burnt. The restaurant was filthy, our table was dirty and never cleaned for us. There was one waitress, who served a customer who arrived ten minutes after us first! To top it off our bill was 30.00!! All in all, worst money ever spent!!!

The food was amazing...but I didn't get what I ordered. I asked for a toasted western with no peppers, or ham and got ham in it. I also asked for no bread and got bread. I don't know if it was ordered wrong as it was takeout but I ended up eating it all and not feeling to well after

Excellent for the price. Wait staff drop by when needed, but don't pester you... she was always willing to top up tea/coffee before we even noticed it was getting low. Wonderful food. Will be returning

An 8.5 for food would be ideal. My only complaint about the meal would be that the potatoes were a tad undercooked (this seems to be a regular thing, as it was the same the previous time I went). Otherwise, the club sandwich was delicious and the rest of the meal was top-notch. The service was good for such a busy place - The server evidently tries as hard as she can considering how busy it is, but service could still be better (ie. they could have more than one server on during the busy hour). With all of the places I've tried, however, this place so far has the best breakfast in Hamilton.

Great breakfast! Service great, many locals on a first name basis. I was there only once before and came out smelling like an ashtray because of the smoking policy ( split rooms). Now that's not an issue and I'm back. Good prices.
