The Beaupre district got its name from a prospector named Beaupre who lived in a cabin by the creek in days gone by. The historic one-room Beaupre Creek Schoolhouse, built in 1925, served as a multi-grade school until it closed in 1962. The Beaupre Community Association was then established and registered and the school was purchased.
